Prayer at Temple David

Temple David invites you to attend and participate in our regular and festival services.

Service and Holidays

Weekly services include Kabbalat Shabbat on Friday nights commencing 6.30pm, and Shabbat Shaharit and Torah service on Saturday mornings from 10.30am to 12.00pm.

Jewish festivals throughout the year are honoured and celebrated with a combination of services and special events. These include a communal Second Night Seder at Pesach, services and social events in the Sukkah at Sukkot, full choral services at Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, dancing with our Torahs at Simchat Torah, and so forth. To see the upcoming Jewish holidays see the Hebcal website.

Information for visitors

Visitors are always welcomed, however due to the ever increasing security risks faced by synagogues all over the world, we request that you inform the Temple office beforehand if you wish to attend any service, and that you bring photographic ID (driver’s licence or passport) with you.

Spare Tallit and Kippot are always available for guests from other congregations.

High Holy Days at Temple David

Rosh Hashanah

We invite you to share in celebrating and observing these special Holidays with our Congregation. Our Rosh Hashanah services will start off the High Holiday Days, it will include our annual Rosh Hashanah lunch and Tashlich in the park. Meaningful Yom Kippur services will give time for prayer and reflection. Following on from Yom Kippur, Sukkot will be highlighted by joyful services and our very popular ‘Pizza in the Hut.’ Simchat Torah is a time for rejoicing as we dance with the Torah scrolls to lively music and the beautiful voices of the Temple David Choir.

Interested in joining us for the High Holiday Days? Tickets are available for a suggested donation through the office.
